The L4G24 mount features the well-known Wilcox-style breakaway design that helps protect the wearer from neck or head injury. It works two ways: in breakaway mode it releases from the base under stress, such as snagging during fast roping or striking a hard object while entering or exiting a vehicle or building, helping minimize serious neck injuries and equipment damage; in the second mode it locks securely to the base.
