How to work it: For sluggish fish or those hiding near cover in 30–50cm of water, use small, tempting actions. Try the lift-and-fall method – pull the line so the lure dives then rises, stirring water waves to grab attention – or twitch the rod irregularly to make the lure dart. Stronger, faster twitches move the bait farther and give fish no chance to rest before striking. Aggressive action can drive the swimming depth to its limit, reaching fish tucked in dense grass at 3–3.5m or holding at the rocks.
